QUEENSLAND
Drink drivers convicted of serious or repeat offences in Queensland will be subject to a period of disqualification from driving, followed by a period of participation in the Alcohol Ignition Interlock Program.
To complete the program, a person must obtain a valid driving licence with an ‘I’ condition (for ‘interlock’) and have an approved interlock device fitted to their vehicle for a minimum period of twelve months.
If the person chooses not to have an approved interlock fitted, they will not be able to legally drive a motor vehicle for two years after the disqualification period ends.
